Word Cards – Features
These double-sided Word Cards are designed to bolster structured literacy and phonics instruction by giving students valuable practice in blending sounds to read words.
- Arranged in five packs, the cards correspond directly to the levels of the Sunshine Phonics programme, ensuring systematic progression.
- Each card features a decodable word on one side. The reverse side shows the same word, with sound buttons. This scaffolding explicitly supports students in identifying and blending each individual sound (phoneme) in the word, reinforcing the essential skill of decoding.
- Complex Code cards also show the relevant phoneme.
- Extended Code cards include both the phoneme and the matching grapheme.
