Sunshine Online consists of two libraries: Sunshine Online Decodable Library and Sunshine Online Levelled Library plus the Reading Road AI Tutor, an AI-powered literacy tool to support teachers and students using our Reading Road series.
Flexible Digital Libraries Supporting Structured Literacy and Other Approaches
Sunshine Online offers two expansive digital reading libraries, providing schools and parents with flexibility in implementing their literacy teaching.
The Decodable Library
- This library of 180 books is built on a systematic and sequential progression of phonics skills.
- Books are automatically unlocked as students master the learning sequence, ensuring they only read texts that align with the phonics instruction they’ve received.
- Includes phonics activities and a read and record feature.
- Includes integrated digital assessment to track progress within the structured approach.
- The Sunshine Online Decodable Library is our Australian edition, featuring Australian illustration and voiceover.
The Levelled Library
- A literacy and maths programme.
- Contains over 900 fiction and non-fiction books, all with voice-over and activities.
- Books can be used for literacy learning and practice with hundreds of skills activities, as well as project-based inquiry for STEAM writing and research.
- Teachers and parents can manually select and assign titles tailored to individual student needs and learning journeys.
- Contains 91 books covering 22 levels introducing mathematics.
- Organised into three Learning Spaces for Emergent, Early and Fluent readers.
Both libraries are ideal for classroom use, independent learning, and take-home reading.
Reading Road AI Tutor for Decoding and Fluency Practice
The Reading Road AI Tutor is a powerful digital companion, designed to work alongside the printed Reading Road texts. This adaptive tutor enhances the structured literacy experience by:
- Adapting to Unique Needs: The AI adapts in real-time to each student’s specific learning requirements.
- Building Fluency and Decoding: Students receive immediate feedback, helping them consolidate their reading abilities, improve their decoding skills, and build reading fluency and confidence.
- Saving Teacher Time: By allowing students to work independently, the AI Tutor saves teachers considerable instructional time. Detailed assessment information and student recordings are automatically recorded in the teacher administration area for convenient review.
